Swick Mining Services has initiated a global expansion strategy for its underground diamond drilling division, with an initial focus on North America.

An office has been established in Sudbury, Canada, one of the world's leading nickel provinces. Mr Will Gove has been appointed North American General Manager to coordinate and implement the North American expansion program, bringing with him more than 12 years experience in the mining services industry in North America.  An initial fleet of five rigs has been stationed in North America.

Swick Mining Services recently secured its first underground diamond drilling trial in Canada with Agnico-Eagle Mines at the LaRonde Gold Mine in the Province of Quebec, and its first drilling contract in the United States with a client with a project in Alaska.

Swick Mining Services is confident that it will be able to demonstrate in North America the productivity, safety, versatility and value benefits of its underground diamond rigs that have been delivered to the Australian mining industry since 2004.
